Dual Purpose Hops

Characteristics: Very pleasant aroma of spice, herbs and soft notes of peach and pear that come through due to high oil levels in the hop.  Also, super alpha acid content, low beta and low cohumulone percentages give it an excellent bittering kick.

Perle

Dual-Purpose Hops

Characteristics: The US variety of Perle hops tends to have higher alpha acids and a different balance of oils than the German variety. This makes it more useful in bittering in the U.S., although the aroma is pleasant and slightly spicy.

Characteristics: Flavor and aroma are known to be mild, earthy and spicy.  Saaz also comes equipped high a higher content of polyphenols which subsides the oxidation and aging process in beer, giving it a longer shelf life.
